I Love The Idea

NUMERO UNO :: Last night on Shaun & Friends the topic of discussion was “Me Time” – why it’s important to carve out time for yourself every day. My guest was my pal Linda Malone, entrepreneur, teacher, and owner of one of my city’s top yoga studios. Linda did a great job discussing the way our bodies and brains adjust to the daily stresses around us to therefore always be functioning in an unnatural ‘stressed out’ state, and we also looked at the importance of time for yourself from a Law of Attraction perspective.

When you immerse yourself
for a time in something that is just about you, that fills you up, that brings you joy, you enter the vibrational state of allowing, so that what you want – the solution, the idea, the relief, whatever the things in your life are that you desire – can flow to you.

So there are benefits both scientifically and metaphysically based. One of the things I do for myself 9 out of 10 mornings is to journal while I enjoy a coffee. Most mornings I’m on my couch, facing living room windows looking out at maple trees. I’ll have a blanket over me and my beloved Ella will snooze between my legs. Most times I journal a one page love list, things I appreciate.

This morning I switched it up. I have much to appreciate, but also much on the horizon. Because those things haven’t actually materialized yet, I played a game with myself that I teach in my Law of Attraction workshops. It’s called “I love the idea”. In writing “I love the idea of ________” and of “___________” and so on this morning, I easily filled a page in a way that connected me to the things I desire for myself even though I haven’t seen them manifest yet. It’s easy to connect to the idea of what you want as the idea has manifested within you.

So it felt delicious to sit and write this way. It’s a tool I use in workshops because I always get someone saying “I can’t get happy before I’m rich when I have nothing in my bank account – show me the money first Shaun and then I’ll get happy.” Of course, you have to get as happy as if you had the money already first so you are a match to it, and therein lies the problem people like to lob my way. Hence the “I love the idea” tool. “I love the idea of financial freedom. I love the idea of abundance and prosperity. I love the idea of a healthy bank account. I love the idea of a profitable day today…” and so on. Just playing in that arena raises your vibration to the “happy” with ease that you need so that you are right away attracting thoughts that match that, raising your vibration further, until you hold it long enough that it has a noticeable affect on your mood, how you see things, and then, of course, what you are now attracting.

I had no plan to write this post this morning, but in the simple shake up of my own Me Time I feel light and centered and everything I wrote about loving the idea of feels more in reach than ever before.

Really and idea worth loving.
