The World AIDS Day X-Canada Project

Happy World AIDS Day! I’ll say that, as most people I’ve spoken with on this project have made today a celebratory occasion – a far cry from the somberness of years gone by.  Last stop as this project draws to a close is with REZO in Montreal.  I’ll be speaking about this project on CP24 this evening live at 9pm, and at 8pm on OUTtv my World AIDS Day Special episode of The Shaun Proulx Show airs.  I’m really proud of it, and hope you tune in.

Also this World AIDS Day, over on GayGuideToronto.com we’ve launched a two-week online auction to benefit the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation and The AIDS Committee of Toronto.  Over $500 worth of 2010′s best pop culture releases, from books to CDs to DVDs – two packages up for grabs.  So go bid! Peace and love! xS

The World AIDS Day X-Canada Project

Tomorrow is World AIDS Day and today we make our second-last stop in the X-Canada tour Skyping with various HIV/AIDS stakeholders.  This time, meet my amazing pal Eric Johnston, whom I love truly madly deeply.  He sits on the board of the Canadian AIDS Society (although he isn’t speaking on their behalf here), and in this sometimes emotional conversation he shares what living with HIV in Halifax is like, and we remember the days when you would pick up Xtra! and see pages and pages of lost friends in it’s ‘Proud Lives’ section:

With World AIDS Day next week, I continue to commemorate the occasion this year here on HIMBO! with my World AIDS Day X-Canada Project,  chatting with different AIDS service organizations and stakeholders across the country.  So far in chatting with Vancouver, Winnipeg and Toronto, it’s been interesting to learn about the affect of HIV/AIDS from women to men to aboriginal populations.  Now check out a twist in the tale; this morning I Skyped with Tom Hilton of AIDS PEI:
