Huge day here in Toronto as what’s shaping up to be the closest mayoral race in our city’s history reaches the finish line with polls opening this morning.  As you may have read from this post, my support goes to someone I’ve known since we were both young men who worked out at the downtown YMCA at the same time in the mornings.  And I’m honoured to have been asked to emcee George Smitherman‘s celebration party (that’s the ‘official’ term, I’m still calling it a victory party ;) ) tonight, a wonderful evening which will include performances from luminaries like my pal the astounding Molly Johnson.  For Smitherman supporters, doors open at 8pm at The Guvernment Complex, it’s free, but capacity is 2000 and all major media will be there.  But most importantly: VOTE!

Where did the day go?  I’m busy prepping for two great new episodes of my talk show, one called ’10 Things I’ve Always Wanted To Ask Women’ and the second is a special, marking World AIDS Day which, as always, is December 1st around the world.

Special highlight though was my interview on Buzzworthy Radio about the show, this blog, and Y&R.  Thanks Na’Vell J. Lee for having me on!  Also busy prepping to facilitate Saturday’s Law Of Attraction:101 workshop here in Toronto.

Since it’s been pouring rain here all night and all day, here’s a pic of my fiance from his L.A. porn days – in the rain.  He’s got an interesting take on the gay porn stars doing straight porn condomless drama unfolding in his industry, over on his blog. He also did a really fun guest video blog for HardBritLads.com that went up this week. (Adult content.)

Gratuitous?  Nepotistic?  Yep.  But gives me something to share with you, as my wet wild day continues.  Peace + love!

Melissa Etheridge: 'Love Yourself'

With awareness of queer bullying on the rise, it only seems fitting that tomorrow night we offer an encore presentation of The Shaun Proulx Show on OUTtv featuring my interview earlier this year with queer icon Melissa Etheridge back when I did my radio show.

For me, the words she spoke when I asked what anyone who feels dis-empowered can do resonate, more so now than ever:

“The strongest most powerful thing you can do in your country, in your town, on your street, in your family, is to love yourself. Is to come to a place inside peace yourself knowing that your creator made you perfect. And you are just the way you are supposed to be. And when you can hold onto that, and vibrate with that, you will affect your family, your town, your country, and it is a vibration that then moves out and changes the world. And it starts right there inside of you, and that is the most important, powerful thing you can do.”
