Are Canadians really that nice? Debatable, but our ignorance is off the charts where HIV and AIDS are concerned; you’d think it was the 1980’s, not 2020.
Surveys done by Toronto’s HIV Hospital and hospice, Casey House show that 50% of Canadians would be nervous to come in contact with someone with HIV; 50% would not eat food an HIV-positive person touched or was near; many incorrectly believe HIV could be transmitted through skin-to-skin touch, saliva, or by sharing glasses or cutlery.
